Hello everyone,

I have a problem (I think) with a translation I did. I downloaded the file for translation because I use SDLX. I finished the translation and uploaded the translated .ini file but the translation won't update, it is still showing as 3% when the uploaded file is complete (see attachment of screenshoot). Shouldn't my uploaded file update the percentage completion and also update the translations seen in the web based editor?
What can I be doing wrong?

I appreciate any help you can give me with this.

Hello Herta

With apologies for the delayed reply! I will flag this up to a couple of our translators to check this for you.

Hello Herta,

I see that the resource in question is locked right now.
My question is, was it unlocked when you tried to upload de translated file?
Could you unlock it and try again?
If you do not succeeed, could you please attach the translated file here and accept me as a member of your team, and I'll try uploading it.

Thanks,

Manoel

Hi Manoel and Hils,

I tried to upload it again making sure it is not locked, same thing happens, the translation does not update, it is still showing 3%. Could it be because I started first to translate in the online editor and then I decided to download for translation? Could it be a bug? I´m just guessing what could be the cause of this....

Attached is the translated file.

How will I accept you in my team, will send a request? Or can I do it on my own?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Herta

Sorry, here's the file again (obviously the system doesn´t allow attaching .ini files. I can't send you a zip either. I saved the file as .txt. I tried uploading the translation as .txt, but I don't think the system accepts it either, you would have to change it to ini...but you surely know this already...

Thanks!´´

Herta,

I noticed that you did not remove the ';' from the remaining 97% of strings you just translated.
You have to remove that character from all strings you translate in order for transifex to read them as translated.

Please let me know if that works for you!

Cheers,

Manoel

Hi Manoel,

Yes, that looked strange to me, because in the original english file the ; is not there. But they appear in the file you download for translation. It can be confusing since usually I never touch anything in the strings, only the text that should be translated. Maybe it would be good idea to add a tip for translators downloading the files so that they know this. I would try removing the ; and let you know if it works.
Thanks again!

Herta
